Overview

In 2024, the University was generously gifted funds to support research that advances Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD) and/or Euthanasia policy, practice or research.

This seed grant is intended for an early career researcher (ECR) from any discipline at the University of Melbourne who has a high-quality project proposal that will impact or advance the systemic progress, policy or research about VAD and/or Euthanasia.

Applications from ECRs who do not ordinarily focus on VAD or Euthanasia research but are proposing to explore a new interdisciplinary or cross-disciplinary social impact-oriented project are encouraged.

Grant conditions: The selection criteria, grant conditions, funding conditions, reporting expectations and compliance requirements of the ECR grants scheme guidelines will apply to the awardee of this grant.

Eligibility

The eligibility criteria of the Early Career Researcher grants broadly apply to the Yeung grant (see ECRG scheme guidelines) but with one distinction. The Judy Yeung ECR grant is only available to applicants who are employed by the University or its departments (i.e. honorary University of Melbourne staff are not eligible for this grant).
