Inductively Coupled Plasma Triple Quad Mass Spectrometer

Inductively coupled plasma triple quadrupole mass spectrometer for superior metal analysis at trace and ultratrace levels.

Agilent ICP tripleQ MS 8900

Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) is one of the most powerful analytical techniques for multi-element analysis, capable of detecting trace and ultra-trace concentrations with excellent sensitivity, wide dynamic range, and rapid sample throughput. ICP triple quadrupole MS (ICPMS-QQQ) builds on conventional ICP-MS by incorporating tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS), enabling highly selective interference removal through collision and/or reaction. This significantly improves analytical accuracy and detection capability for challenging elements and complex sample matrices, expanding the scope of elemental and isotopic analysis beyond conventional ICP-MS.

Our  ICPMS-QQQ (Agilent 8900) combines true MS/MS technology with a fourth-generation Octopole Reaction System (ORS⁴) to deliver industry-leading interference removal and analytical performance. The tandem quadrupole design precisely controls ions entering and leaving the reaction cell, providing accurate quantification of difficult elements such as Hg, Se, As and Sb, while resolving complex polyatomic and isobaric interferences. The instrument also offers excellent matrix tolerance (up to 25% total dissolved solids), sub-ppt detection limits, an 11-order dynamic range, fast transient signal acquisition for nanoparticle analysis and seamless integration with high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) for advanced elemental speciation studies.
