WHEELER CENTRE HOT DESK FELLOWSHIP

2019 Wheeler Centre Hot Desk Fellowships Announced

CoVA is pleased to announce their support for three new fellowships for regional or interstate writers, as part of the Wheeler Centre's Hot Desk Fellowship program. CoVA will provide these three writers a five-week residency at the Norma Redpath Studio, supported by the Copyright Agency's Cultural Fund. This will enable regional and interstate writers to participate in the professional development opportunity the Hot Desk Fellowship program provides.

Generously supported by the Readings Foundation, the Fellowship program  allows emerging writers the opportunity to simply write and create, as well as introducing their work to the public through public programs.

The three Hot Desk Fellows with the Norma Redpath Studio residency are fiction writer Geetha Balakrishnan from New South Wales, creative non-fiction writer Rebecca Giggs from Western Australia and poet Yvette Holt from the Northern Territory.

It’s been a great pleasure to see the development of the Wheeler Centre Hot Desks Fellowships and the important role they play in nurturing new and emerging writers and their fascinating projects. The addition of the residential Fellowships, thanks to CAL and the University of Melbourne, is a particularly exciting and welcome development adding a new level to the Fellowships.
