These three paintings were made in Castlemaine during 2020 and are effectively our Lockdown paintings, made over a period of uncertainty and crisis, and the suspension of sociability and travel. Castlemaine clouds, the winds of change, the wider world and it’s turbulence, 100 years of turbulence from 1920 to 2020 marked by a distant great events and our own and our family’s more or less accidental presence at many of them.
