International Research Training Groups (IRTGs)

CRITICAL DATES

Open call.

OVERVIEW

International Research Training Groups (IRTGs) are organised, cohort-based programs that foster joint enrolment and supervision of graduate researchers by Melbourne academics and their international peers. This scheme supports the development of new IRTGs with world’s best research organisations where these partners demonstrate the same commitment to high-quality joint research and research training activities. As a major element of the University’s International Research and Research Training Fund (IRRTF), these IRTGs will be expected to benefit Melbourne participants by lifting the overall quality and impact of their research through collaboration with leading researchers and teams internationally.

ELIGIBILITY

The UoM Lead Applicant (academic lead) and other principal investigators must be employed by the University of Melbourne. Honorary staff at Melbourne cannot be listed as an academic lead, but can participate in supervision of joint PhDs.
