  • supervise and develop future research and nurture their development of collaboration,
    commercialisation and translation skills; and
  • deliver significant, actionable outcomes for industry partners and end-users.

Funding

  • up to 25 Mid-Career Industry Fellowships may be awarded funding in a grant opportunity;
  • the Mid-Career Industry Fellow will receive a contribution to salary and salary related on-costs of $215,410 per year for 2-4 consecutive years (full time equivalent);
  • project costs not exceeding $290,000 may be requested over the duration of the grant;
  • the grant may be converted to a part-time basis for funded applications, not exceeding 8
    consecutive years (excluding any approved periods of suspension)

LIMITS

An individual may only submit a maximum of three Mid-Career Industry Fellowship applications over the period in which they are eligible.

There are no cross scheme limits applicable in the Industry Fellowships Program. An applicant can apply for an Industry Mid-Career Fellowship, if they are within the eligible criteria regarding research experience (5 – 15 years) but will not be able to hold two concurrent Fellowships. The project start date for Mid-Career Industry Fellowships must be between 1 July 2024 and 30 June 2025.

Applicants cannot apply for more than one kind of Industry Fellowship during a program round (year). Applicants can apply for one of the Discovery Program Fellowships (DECRA or Future Fellowship) in the same year. However, if they are awarded in both programs, they can only accept one fellowship.
