From 2021-2024, LEaRN is evaluating the impact of design of inclusive learning environments in Melbourne Catholic Schools.
About
This three-year project is a collaboration with long-term research partners, Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS).
Detailed project outline
-
Objectives
To evaluate how design of learning environments affects participation by students of all abilities in education and other activities in Melbourne Catholic Schools.
-
Outcomes
Initially, we will investigate the processes of designing new/refurbished, inclusive facilities in three mainstream Catholic schools. We will then assess how well these facilities support students with disabilities and special educational needs to participate in learning and school life.
-
Impact
Our research will inform MACS' decisions about how best to design school spaces to support students of all abilities.
