David Balding recently published a paper with Doug Speed in Nature Genetics where they found that by analyzing imputed data for a large number of human traits, a model can be empirically derived that more accurately describes how heritability varies with minor allele frequency (MAF), linkage disequilibrium (LD) and genotype certainty.
