BGI Australia: BGI’s Latest Technology Development in Genomics Research and Applications

Hosted by Centre for Systems Genomics, The University of Melbourne

Friday 4th August
12-1pm
Doherty Institute Auditorium, The University of Melbourne

Speakers:
Dr Antony Beckhouse, Field Applications Specialist
Dr Lynn Fink, Director of Research

BGI Australia launched its laboratory this May, bringing BGI’s proprietary genome-sequencers BGISEQ-500 and BGISEQ-50 into Australia, the first of its kind to operate in the southern hemisphere. This talk will showcase the BGISEQ’s technical capabilities and present case studies of collaborations with Australian scientists using these new sequencers. Powered by combinatorial Probe-Anchor Synthesis (cPAS), improved DNA Nano Ball (DNB) and pattern array technologies, the BGISEQ is changing the way genomics research is done in this country and around the world, providing end-to-end solutions with accuracy and flexibility, driving research dollars further and accelerating outcomes.

RSVP essential via this Eventbrite link.

The talk will be followed by a networking lunch in the foyer area of the Doherty Institute Auditorium. Please email Andrew Siebel (asiebel@unimelb.edu.au) with any dietary requirements.

Afternoon one-on-one sessions will also be available to explore opportunities for research collaborations or partnerships. To schedule a session please email bgi-australia@genomics.cn.
