Kate Just is a visual artist and Head of Graduate Coursework at the Victorian College of the Arts, where she has been a lecturer since 2005. She works across sculpture, installation, textiles and photography to investigate the diverse histories of female representation. She has been the recipient of grants from the Australia Council for the Arts, City of Melbourne and Creative Victoria. In 2015 she won the Wangaratta Textile Prize, the 2014 the Rupert Bunny Visual Art Fellowship, the 2013 British Council Realise Your Dream Award and the 2007 Seiman’s Prize. Alongside residencies at Gertrude Contemporary and the Australian Tapestry Workshop, Just has undertaken the Australia Council Residency in Barcelona, the Asialink residency at the Sanskriti Foundation in New Delhi, Youkobo artspace in Tokyo and a KREMS AIR residency in Krems, Austria.
