Creativity & Community Resilience Studio

Strengthening community resilience through innovative creative arts-led strategies

Living Art Workshops

We know climate change is here – but we have no idea how it will affect us from year to year and from decade to decade. By using the particular tools of creative arts practice, we can imagine possible futures and plan for changes and adaptations required to thrive in the face of our shared climate precarity.

The Creativity and Community Resilience (CCR) Studio was developed by the Centre of Visual Art (CoVA) at the University of Melbourne from 2021 to 2023. The new knowledge and outputs facilitated through the CCR Studio were born out of extended collaboration between community members and campus staff and students, revealing the importance of bringing together diverse expertise to understand and adapt to emerging public concerns. In particular, this multi-year project explored how to prepare for precarious climate conditions by engaging expertise across the arts and sciences and across campus and community.
