Nicholas Selenitsch is a Lecturer in Art at the Victorian College of the Arts and practising visual artist. His work presents and promotes the artistic and social importance of play, specifically the concept of exploration without conclusiveness. He incorporates the aesthetics and motifs of games, sports and civic markings via installation, drawing, sculpture and public artworks. Solo exhibitions include Mechanical Horses, Sutton Gallery, Melbourne, 2018; The Mind on Fire, Incinerator Gallery, Melbourne, 2018; The Nature of Things, Sutton Gallery, Melbourne; Kangaroo Court, Latrobe Regional Gallery, Morwell, 2015; Nick Selenitsch - Play, Shepparton Art Museum, Shepparton, 2014. From 2006-2008 Selenitsch was a studio resident at Gertrude Contemporary, the recipient of the Qantas Travelling Art Prize in 2009 and was an Australia Council studio resident in Helsinki in 2010. His practice is represented in Australia by Sutton Gallery, Melbourne.
