Lou Hubbard is Senior Lecturer in Photography at the Victorian College of the Arts. Her practice encompasses painting, drawing, sculpture, photography and the moving image to interrogate the nature of training, submission and subordination. She has exhibited widely with recent shows including: Overdrawn Margaret Lawrence Gallery Melbourne and NAFA Singapore (2018), 21st Century Art Australian Contemporary Collection NGVA Melbourne (2017), Table Land Sarah Scout Presents Melbourne (2016), Dead Still Standing West Space Melbourne (2015), NEW10ACCA (2010), Making it New: Focus on Contemporary Australian Art MCA Sydney (2009), Lackness Gertrude Contemporary, Melbourne (2009). Hubbard has been an Australia Council resident in Paris (2003) and Barcelona (2010); and a resident by invitation at AIR Antwerp (2013).
