About Peter

Peter Wu is a PhD student in the Decision, Risk and Financial Sciences Program. He obtained his Bachelor degree in Commerce with double major in Economics and Finance (2019), Honours in Finance (2020), and Master of Commerce (DRFS) at the University of Melbourne. During his Honours year, he investigated the relationship between electoral information and volatility of the stock market in the U.S., as well as examining the effect of political preference on the stock market participation of U.S. households. Peter has also been involved in tutoring a wide range of Economics/ Finance subjects such as Investments, Economics of Financial Markets and International Financial Management.

Peter’s current research interests are machine learning and natural language processing applications in finance and financial decision-making.
